This Lurking Thing (in development) relates a Halloween triptych of tales where the living are far more feared than the dead - the true and grisly history of Dracula, the macabre bedtime story of an infirm woman, and the biography of a man who presides as a living ghost.  Each story reveals the scarier side of presenting our true selves.

This Lurking Thing includes an adaptation of a short story by fantasy and science fiction writer Esther Friesner.

History:  A workshop production of This Lurking Thing was presented October 27th, 2011 at Dixon Place in NYC.  It was produced by Brooklyn based Artful Conspirators and directed by David A. Miller.  Originally this production was work-shopped in 2010 at Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater as part of their winter play development WHAT Lab series.  It is said that if you recite this play backwards three times in a high pitched voice with the lights turned off and in front of a mirror, the ghost of Ed Wood will appear in your Halloween yard decorations.
